Children's Book Council has an informative blog. Librarians, take
note. The June 14th entry covered a list of books for kids reading
beyond their age level. Huge help here!
My FAVE!!! Betsy Bird at A Fuse # 8 Production offers book reviews, book
and publishing news, some opinions, lots of award predictions and good
writing. Books featured are picture book through middle grade.
First Book puts new books into the hands of
very young children and into the hands of older children as well.

news from her own library stacks and from the entire country.

adults. But that girl does a fine job of reviews. The New2YA segments
let readers know what is on the bookstore shelves NOW!
Erik started his blog when he was 9. He's 15, now. This Kid Reviews Book is the place for you to find the perfect book for the
kid in your life.
Kids Book Review is Australian Features Australian publishers and authors but also talks about international English language books for toddlers through teens
Children's Book Daily. Those Aussies! This blogger is a writer, a librarian and a book reviewer.
Big Book Little Book is British. It features lots and lots of book reviews divided into age groups.
Blogs are ephemeral. I tried to pick useful blogs that have posted within the last two months. So many great blogs have dropped into disuse because their writers found full-time employment, family life intervened - or in my case when I drop from view - distraction!

The French Connection
Just an astonishing coincidence, I'm sure, but today two of the blogs I follow - Betsy Bird and Lerner - have targeted French books. Betsy's blog is all about children's books. Lerner's entry talks about the high concentration of books and book reviews in the hands of the Parisian populace. Since Herve Tullet's smash hit, Press Here, I am very interested in French books - especially for children.
It helps that my daughter-in-law promises (or threatens), on a regular basis, to return to Lyons, taking my son and granddaughter with her.
I have to thank Betsy for adding the link to Pop-Op, a French blog that concentrates on children's books and picture book art. Tres adorable! (Someday, I'll learn to add diacritical marks, I hope.)

Organization
This blog needs a little organization so I am declaring Tuesday to be Book Blog Day! (Fanfare, please.) And to celebrate the very first Book Blog day, I will introduce you to a Children's Book Blog that I truly enjoy!
Delightful Children's Books!!
I like this website so much, I list it in my links so you can always visit this clever and informative site when you visit my blog. The owner of Delightful Children's Books is a mother and educator and she produces annotated book lists of her family's favorite titles on a variety of subjects. Visit her "About" page to learn about this writer and reviewer. I have used her site in my storytelling business, searching for ideas for activity books and story inspiration. Librarians, caregivers and teachers will like this site a lot.
Good job, Delightful Children's Books
BTW, I recently presented to a local Kiwanis and gave them a list of 10 Great Children's Book Websites and Blogs. I posted the list on Scribd so click and enjoy. Um, I added this blog, too. So, please don't forget about ME!
